SQLServerPedia

For the last several months, we’ve been focusing on the plumbing at SQLServerPedia.  We put an infrastructure in place that could support the things we wanted to accomplish, like:

• User-updated wiki pages so people could actively update articles when they had something to add
• Blog syndication so that bloggers could get more readers and so readers could have a single place to find new bloggers
• Video podcasts so anyone can download short video presentations for training, complete with a Youtube-style interface to watch multiple related videos in a row

I’ve learned more about MediaWiki, WordPress, video codecs and RSS feeds than I ever wanted to know.  I drew the line at trying to make the whole thing look good, because that’s way outside of my talent range.  I know just enough about Photoshop to know that I don’t know anything about Photoshop.

Enter the web team at Quest Software.  They just unveiled a new look for SQLServerPedia including a home page that helps us sum up what’s going on with the site and a better search interface.  I’m excited - I think it looks awesome, and I want to thank everybody who’s been involved with the site so far.  The good stuff just keeps comin’.
